Scorpius led Sikozu deeper into the temple, backing her up against a wall and running his tongue over the length of her face. She gasped. “You like this?”
She grinned and walked in front of him, facing away. She then knelt down, tracing her hand down his chest. “It’s very inventive.”
He ran a hand through her hair, then grabbed it and pushed her forward. “I have never me a spy more resourceful, nor tenacious.”
“No!” Sikozu tried to crawl away, but Scorpius grabbed her by the foot and dragged her back. Once again she attempted escape, and received a kick to her back for her trouble. He then reached down and pulled the comm device she had implanted in her upper back out of her skin, while she screamed in pain.
“A Scarran comms device.” He crushed it and tossed it aside.
“What did you expect.” She hissed. “How long have you known?”
“Long enough for you to serve as my desires. Unfortunately,” he grabbed her by the hair again and threw her against a wall, growling, “your desires no longer serve my needs.”
“They promised to free my people from their servitude.” Sikozu remained where she had landed, injured and in pain, but still with enough attitude left in her to scream the final word at him. This was not supposed to happen. He was supposed to understand.
“They will not.” His voice was calm again. “And you have ruined something… unique.”
The beating continued, until she passed out from the pain of bruises forming and bones braking. She had no idea how long she lay there, drifting in and out of consciousness after he left her.
When the ground began to shake violently, Sikozu finally woke up enough to know something was very wrong. The temple began falling apart around her, as if being sucked into an enormous vacuum. The arm that had been tied to an alter ripped out of its socket and she screamed again. The force drew her in, slamming her back against the opposite wall.
And then the wall gave way…
